Windows 10 handles calls from Android smartphones

Another preview version of Windows 10 20H1 in the hands of the Insiders. This time it's up to build 18999 distributed within the Fast Ring. We remind you that the final release will debut only during the next spring and that the current one is full of bugs waiting to be corrected: we therefore advise against installing them on a PC used daily for work or study.

W10 20H1 build 18999 and Your Phone

There is not much to say about the build. Even the intervention on the official blog is somewhat bare. However, the post mentions an interesting novelty always addressed to Insiders: it is what it concerns Your phone, the application offered by Microsoft to make the operating system interact with Android smartphone wirelessly.

The new feature Calls it allows to manage calls directly from Windows 10, without even having to touch the mobile device. A feature actually already shown by the Redmond group during the Unpacked event in August dedicated by Samsung to Galaxy Note10 and last week with the appointment that revealed the new entries in the Surface line.

Windows 10 20H1 brings Android phone calls to PC

The audio communication with the interlocutor is managed through the microphone and the PC speakers, with the desktop software interface that shows the chronology of the calls and a numeric keypad for their composition. Obviously, from mouse and keyboard it is also possible to answer the incoming ones or reject them, possibly replicating with a personalized text message.

These i requirements: a phone with Android 7.0 (or later) and a PC with a Windows 10 platform (19H1 or later) and Bluetooth module to connect to the smartphone. The feature is not bug-free and still requires some improvement, as pointed out by Microsoft itself, which specifies how from time to time it may be necessary to re-establish communication between the two devices.
