The automotive sector as a strategic asset for Italy

Re-launching our local four-wheeler industry, focusing on supporting new technologies in the name of a more sustainable form of mobility. This, in a nutshell, is the objective defined in the work table on the subject automotive went on stage Friday, October 18 at the Ministry of Economic Development and chaired by Minister Stefano Patuanelli.

MISE: three automotive work groups

The meeting was attended by dozens of industry representatives including companies, unions, associations and the academic world: from ACI to CNA, from Confindustria to Federauto, without forgetting numerous automakers such as FCA, Lamborghini, Nissan, Renault, Tesla and Toyota. Goal of the appointment is the start of a comparison to define a common working method, identifying what is needed in order to support the transition process of the sector which, according to the MISE, constitutes a strategic industrial asset for theItaly.

Investments in research and development aimed at the production of advanced vehicles from the point of view of environmental sustainability, continuous training of technicians and professionals, measures for the adoption of new industrial policies capable of enhancing the know-how of companies and professionals. These are the themes entrusted to three work groups made.

They have a task that is not simple, but essential if the country wants to have its own in an area that is about to be affected by profound changes: we mention all the spread of electric cars and I advise you of autonomous driving. The latter in particular requires an adjustment from a regulatory point of view, without which it will not be possible to bring self-driving cars onto the road.
