The Ministry for Technological Innovation and Digitization has published new details on the online hate working group which will soon be taking up office for three months of collaborative work on the topic. Among the most awaited details, in particular, the names of the 16 members who, free of charge (detail dutifully to underline), will carry on the work by putting their respective skills on the plate:
Sociologists will be part of it Stefano Epifani is Giovanni Boccia Altieri; journalists Luca De Biase, Sonia Montegiove, Martina Pennisi, Anna Masera is Ilaria Sotis; Writer Massimo Mantellini; the lawyer Carlo Blengino; Engineer Juan Carlos De Martin; university teachers Giovanni Ziccardi, Giovanna Cosenza is Sara Bentivegna; the creatives Paolo Iabichino is Rosy Russo; researcher Walter Quattrociocchi.
The working group is set up at the Cabinet Office of Minister Paola Pisano and will be coordinated by the lawyer Guido Scorza.
During the work, the group will be able to invite additional entities (public or private) to acquire information, ideas and skills useful to complete an argument whose goal is to reach a conclusive relationship contemplating:
- the results of the analysis;
- one or more concrete proposals, including any corrective measures to the legislation currently envisaged to combat online hatred.
It is not yet clear when the work will start, but in all likelihood the first call will be imminent to quickly reach some conclusion that allows a more pragmatic, scientific (and intelligent, we feel we should add) approach to the theme "hate speech ".
